Ofsted

What is Ofsted?

Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) is the government department that inspects and regulates care and educational services for children and young people.

Ofsted launched their new inspection framework in November 2025 - a comprehensive review of the inspection of schools nationally. There is no direct comparison between previous Ofsted outcomes and those offered under the new framework, as the language from one framework to the next has been radically revised.
